Senior .NET Product Engineer

We're looking for a Senior ASP.NET Product Engineer to join the technology team here at FirstGiving. This is a full-time role located in Davis Square, Somerville. Our IT Infrastructure is based on Microsoft technology and we work side-by-side with Microsoft Gold partners.

About the role

This role is all about implementing new projects in a MVC pattern and exposing services via REST. The successful candidate will be collaborating and coordinating with team members. Due to the market leading nature of our product we require that the candidate be highly proficient in: MVC, classical ASP.NET and exposure to REST Services. You will be:

• Developing a suite of .NET applications to match the defined technical requirements to fit within a service based architecture.
• Implementing and unit testing new product lines from the core assets of the FirstGiving infrastructure.
• Integrating with social websites, e.g., Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
• Working alongside the front-end developers on the FirstGiving product team to provide cross-functional team behavior.
• Coordinating day-to-day activity within the web development team, to ensure that task deadlines are hit.
• Identifying and communicating potential issues to other team leaders that will prevent deadlines being hit and provide progress updates for assigned tasks.

About you

We expect the right candidate will have:

• 5 years of experience with ASP.NET 2/3.5 (C#)
• Competence with the MVC Framework
• 1 year of experience JavaScript and JQuery libraries
• XHTML/CSS & knowledge of the DOM
• Deep understanding of OO principles and design patterns
• Experience of accessibility/usability
• Exposure to REST Services
• Experience working in SOA environment and is familiar with DDD
• Experience in unit testing, integration testing and mocking
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Familiar with agile scrum methodology
